Black Jack is a mellow guy with reddish black fur and a calm presence that makes him easy to have around.

His ideal day starts with a cool morning walk, where he follows a relaxed, winding path, taking in the world around him. He’s easy to walk and generally calm—though he perks up with excitement if a squirrel or bunny makes an appearance.

At home, Black Jack is quiet and low-key. He enjoys being near people but doesn’t seek out constant attention. He enjoys cuddles, and if you offer a good booty scratch, he’s all in.

He gets along well with other dogs but doesn’t show much interest in playing. He’s more of a “coexist peacefully” kind of guy. He spends the workday in a crate and does just fine once he’s in, even if he can be a little hesitant to go in at first.

Black Jack isn’t super responsive to commands—he might not know many, or he might just prefer doing his own thing—but he’s not a troublemaker. He’s the kind of dog who fits into your life without a lot of fuss, as long as you’re okay with a little independence and a lot of sniff breaks.

If you’re looking for a calm, quiet companion, Black Jack might be your guy.
