✅ “Super happy & friendly guy!”
Just call me big chill! Archer is a mellow, happy-go-lucky, teddy bear who will be forever endeared to you for getting that oh-so-itchy spot just behind his ear. This snuggle bug acclimates effortlessly to new people and new spaces, and, being food-motivated, he is eager to please and easy to train. He already knows sit, down, shake, touch, and spin, and while maybe not a trick, he is quite the catcher if you want to toss treats in the air for him to snatch.
He loves a good walk and, after some initial excitement, walks very well on a leash. He appreciates two walks per day but won't become a gremlin if he goes without. While he loves to sniff, he is pretty indifferent to other people and dogs and just ignores reactive dogs. We're still not sure how he is with other dogs as he's been recuperating from his neutering, but he has been the sweetest with cats. He shows no prey drive or play drive and has participated in some gentle nose boops that were cat-initiated. He has been very sweet with everyone he's met, and is mostly curious if they want to pet him or give him treats.
Archer is fully potty trained and has been fine going a work day home alone without needing potty breaks. He is totally fine to roam free home alone and has shown no adverse behaviors when left to free roam. However, he's a little Houdini if you try to crate him when he's home alone, so if free roaming is not an option, he is not the one for you. That said, he is crate trained, and happily sleeps or rests in his crate with or without the crate locked as long as his humans are home.
Archer really just wants his people, and whatever you want to do, he's cool with it. He would really love a household that lets him be on furniture with you and, if you're cool with it, sleep in bed with you (don't worry, I politely sleep at the end of the bed until I am invited to snuggle, but then I snuggle....hard). Other than that, I'm pretty cool with whatever. Also, did I mention you could be scratching my ear?
