Stan is a fun pup to have around. His stout shape and beautiful brindle coat garner him lots of attention. Luckily, Stan likes to be the star of the show and happily accepts the attention. I sometimes call him “Stan the ham”! He is young so he still has lots of puppy joy to share with the world. We go on 1-2 walks a day and he enjoys playful bursts with my resident dog which helps him get through our workday. He has also been attending doggie day care and absolutely loving it. Upon his arrival the staff always say “STAAAAAN” and he trots over for hugs before the real play time begins. No matter what his day looks like he settles in during the evening either on the couch for snuggles, or in his dog bed where he snoozes until we all go to bed. He sleeps through the night from about 10pm-6am.

Stan hails from a rural area down south where he lived outside so all the city noises and “rules” of living in a house were new to Stan. He was initially a bit nervous, but quickly adjusted to a life of luxury and now rather enjoys exploring his new neighborhood on our walks. In spite of his southern heritage the snow is no match for Stan. He will still happily play outside and stick his whole head in the snow if he suspects there is something cool below.

Being an outdoor dog he also arrived with limited manners. Stan is proving to be a quick learner. He is mostly potty trained and only had a few accidents in the house. He is crate trained, sleeps through the night, has very quickly learned to sit for pets and before he gets his food. He will wait before crossing the street when asked, walks well on a leash and is calm in the car. Food is an excellent motivator for this cutie pie and can be leveraged for additional training.

Overall Stan is a great pup and we are enjoying having him around. He still has spunky puppy moments, but has shown significant growth in a short amount of time. With continued consistency and training Stan will grow into a wonderful addition to just about any family. If you would like him to join your family apply today!

UPDATE

Stan received his first report card from doggy daycare: “Stan had a fantastic first day of daycare here at Central Bark! He confidently greeted both the handlers and the other dogs, and it didn’t take long for him to make some new friends! He had a blast racing around the yard and playing with Miss Pepper, as well as wrestling with Kira the Husky girl :) Stan also enjoyed working on his basic commands with the handlers, especially since it meant he got treats, and loved showing off his beautiful sit and starting the work on stay. This sweet puppy was such a pleasure to have in group today and I hope we continue seeing him!”

UPDATE 2 FROM DAYCARE

Stan had a fabulous morning here at Central Bark Daycare! This crazy puppy had the time of his life playing with his furry friends, and especially had a blast with Miss Kira the Husky and Roscoe the Golden Retriever :) Stan was also very excited to see his girlfriend, Litte Miss Chai Latte, and couldn’t wait to start playing with her once she arrived. Stan had lots of fun racing all around the yard, chasing and wrestling with his friends, even convincing Mia the Goldendoodle to join in on the fun and play with him! Stan is such a sweetheart and is always fun to have in group, and I hope he had as much fun as I did getting to hang out with him today <3
