Rainier

Meet Rainier! Just like the stratovolcano for which she is named, Rainier is bursting with the playful energy and enthusiasm of a young, curious puppy!

Rainier and her mother and siblings were transported from Alabama when the puppies were just a few weeks old. Now, this playful, intelligent, and curious shepherd mix pup is ready to be your life-long companion in their forever home.

Here is what you need to know about Rainier:

Personality - Rainier is a typical puppy who likes to play and sleep. She is a confident pup who does well with new experiences. Rainier enjoys playing with her toys and learning new things. She sits for her meals and for a treat. After a play session, Rainier is happy to settle down for a nap in her crate, your lap, or in her dog bed.

Socialization (daily life) - Rainier has been fostered with an active family with young kids. She has tagged along both on our family adventures and in our day-to-day activities. Rainier has met friends from the neighborhood, visited the pool, attended baseball games, and become the impromptu team mascot at an ultimate frisbee jamboree. No matter the situation, Rainier has handled it with the curiosity and confidence of an easygoing puppy.

Socialization (cats) - Rainier is respectful and curious with cats. As a young pup, Rainier is interested in playing with our elderly cat, but is well mannered and backs off when told no. Rainier is learning how to treat cats and has spent time alongside our cat relaxing on the floor or snuggling with the same person a few inches from each other.

Socialization (dogs) - Rainier is friendly and loves to play with other dogs. In the neighborhood, she is happy to watch older dogs from our yard or while being held. She enjoyed romping with a slightly older puppy and a young dog on play dates.

Food and potty - Rainier is a pup that is highly food motivated, which may benefit her in future obedience training. She delights in figuring out food/treat dispensing puzzles. She has discovered how to roll them along the floor with her nose and paws to get the food out. Rainier is doing well in potty training. Her potty signals are typically easy to spot and she can be whisked outside for a potty break.

Crate and Travel - Rainier settles nicely and is quiet in her crate. She sleeps in her crate at night and when left alone and hasn’t had an accident. Rainier will whine when she needs to go outside and typically needs to go out 0-1 times per night. Rainier likes to sleep cuddled with a stuffed animal or soft toy. Rainier travels in her crate in the car and is quiet and calm, typically settling down for a nap.

Rainier is still growing but she is full of all the best things you can hope for in a canine companion! She is smart and easy going. She is well socialized and calm. Rainier would be easy to train and fit into family life well!

Rainier will be adopted out with an addendum to her contract to be spayed at an appropriate age.

Adopting a newborn puppy from Fetch

At Fetch, we’re proud of the loving, healthy puppies born and raised in our care. We have raised more than 200 newborn puppies and counting, in addition to countless litters transferred to us when they were just days old. Each puppy receives round-the-clock attention, expert care, and a whole lot of love from the very start. Our team of volunteers work tirelessly to make sure they get everything they need, from socialization and basic training to regular veterinary visits. By the time our puppies are ready to go to their forever homes, they are well-prepared to join families and bring joy to their adopters’ lives.

Adopting a puppy from Fetch means you don’t have to go to a breeder to find a healthy, happy companion. Our puppies are raised to be adaptable, comfortable around people and other animals, and ready to embrace new experiences. We take time to observe each puppy’s unique personality, so when it’s time for them to join a new family, we make sure it’s the right fit. This individualized approach helps our puppies thrive in their new homes and brings joy to everyone involved. We have a select few foster homes that specialize in raising litters, and have each raised dozens of litters for our rescue. Having an experienced eye care for these puppies as they grow up is critical to their long-term success.

When you choose to adopt a puppy through Fetch, you’re not only welcoming a wonderful puppy into your family, but you’re also helping to save more lives. Each adoption frees up space and resources for other dogs who need our care, allowing us to help more animals find loving homes. Adopting a puppy from Fetch Wisconsin Rescue gives you a lifelong companion and supports our mission to save lives—one pup at a time.
