Perry the puppy is a lover. He LOVES attention and if had it his way he would be pet or played with 24/7. We start our day around 6/6:30 and immediately go outside. Perry sleeps in a kennel and needs to be let out first thing. Perry can have accidents as he is working with potty training but he does well as long as someone is giving him access. He typically only has accidents if he is over excited or playing to hard. After potty, we spend some time cuddling and getting pets. While the humans get ready, Perry, our other foster, and our resident dog play, or wait for breakfast. Perry loves our cat, she has batted at him but he thinks that means they are best friends. He hasn't done anything remotely aggressive with her. He follows her around and is convinced she will change her mind and be his best friend. We feed breakfast between 7:30/8:00 and follow by another potty break. Perry does best eating out of a "slow feeder" of some type. Perry likes to confirm everyone cleaned their bowls, we haven't seen any food aggression or resource guarding. After potty break we come back in and usually he plays - as he is a puppy he is incredibly interested in toys, throwing them to himself, running around, trying to figure out why his foot hit him in the head, etc. If he can he'll get the other dogs to participate and run around with him. Then it's nap time! Usually around lunch we take a walk, as he is learning leash behavior it's typically a shorter walk as it takes a lot of brain power for the little guy. By the time we get back it's another nap. In mid afternoon, we usually do a puppy puzzle, sniff mat or a kong to exert some more energy. Around 4:30/5 we have dinner and an evening walk which we try to make a little longer to practice walking. He usually plays a bit more and runs around the house. After he has confirmed his foot is his, no one has stolen his favorite stuffed animal, and that the squeaker still works, he naps before bed bedtime. He prefers to lay close to someone and get some attention. He enjoys having his face/ears rubbed and loves to stretch his long puppy legs. He is a VERY good boy, he is a typical puppy who needs some direction/basic obedience training, and when he gets it, he loves doing it for treats or attention.

Perry hasn't met children yet. He loves watching birds, getting brushed, does really well getting a bath and likes to bark when someone tries to open the back door without telling him, or the mailman comes up the side walk. He loves carrying socks around the house. He hasn't once ruined a sock but just likes to show them off. He would prefer to see what you are up to at all times, and wished all walls were glass so he could see through it. He also has not decided if he is a fan of the garage door opening on its own or not. He does really well in public, meeting other humans (adults/teenagers), in the car, and when walking around the neighborhood. He is unsure of stairs but is trying his best. soon!
