Do you, uh, want to play!? Then Parker is your pup. Parker's enthusiasm for play and love for his people is par none, and he is always rip roaring to go for a romp or play tug of war. Spike a tennis ball on the ground and watch him jump and fumble his way to get the ball and then run around proudly showing off his trophy. This fun-loving spitfire has an outstanding personality and can't wait to find his BFFs.
Parker will be a perfect fit for an active household, especially one with another dog wanting doggy friends. He is a clever boy who thrives with training, mental stimulation, or a job to do. He'll try to entice everyone to play with him by bringing out his toys one by one to see which one might catch your eye, and occasionally needs a reminder that not everything on the floor is his toy. Parker is already on his way to learning touch, sit, down, and come and loves to make his people proud of him.
While play time is his favorite, he also enjoys a walk where he can take his time to snuffle and sniff. He also got a small taste of lake life and found out he loves the water, especially chasing and chomping incoming waves. That said, he also has been very happy to chill outside near his people or on the couch while you watch a show or read given he has a toy to chew. A good butt or ear scratch will endear him to you as well once he's comfortable with you.
Despite Parker being a lover at heart, he can be anxious and nervous around unfamiliar people, dogs, and situations and needs time and positive reinforcement to adjust. Consistent training and persistent positive conditioning will help him to feel confident and safe, and he has already shown great improvement in his short time in Wisconsin. His people are most important to him, and Parker has shown separation anxiety which will also require some training and positive conditioning. That said, he has done well crated despite it not being his favorite.
Parker has no pottying issues and can easily go a work day and overnight without needing to go to the bathroom. He is well trained on going outside and usually makes quick work when it's his time to go outside.
Whether it's his charming joie de vivre or his freckled paws and frost-tipped tail, Parker will win your heart and will be one of the best dogs ever for your household.
