Nettie is a 2-4 year old mixed breed from Louisiana (LA). She was on the euthanasia list and pulled hours before she was to be put down. Nettie was adopted out to a home and then returned to a different shelter with her adoptive sister. She is not bonded with any of the dogs and can be the only dog in the house. Nettie has been in Wisconsin since September 20th.

Nettie is one of the sweetest pups you will meet. She’s independent and happily explores on her own. And she’s also the type of dog that will lovingly stare into your eyes and ask you for pets and cuddles. She loves snuggling up next to you but is also ok if another dog pushes their way in. She is currently fostered with three other foster dogs who she was with in LA and the resident dog of the house. Her LA foster Mom almost kept her but they just adopted a different dog.

Energy Level:
Nettie is a medium to medium low energy level dog. She is happy just hanging out at home and will play with her other foster sisters. She will also happily go on a 1.25 mile walk in the evening. She’s not pushy and just loves to be in the mix and she’s just a happy girl to do whatever is happening.

Training:
Since Nettie was in a home previously she does have some training. She knows the commands sit and down. She comes when her name is called. She is fully adjusted to living in a home and isn’t scared of the TV, stairs, or her reflection (things that a stray are scared of). Nettie is sensitive to harsh tones and cowers so positive reinforcement training will be a must for her.

Crate Training:
Nettie easily goes in a kennel without any fuss. She will either kennel up with her foster sister or by herself. She does not bark or whine.

Potty Training:
Nettie has not had an accident in the house since she’s arrived. We spend a lot of time outside and are potty training her sisters so she has ample opportunities to do her business.

Grooming:
Nettie is a short haired dog who’s hair feels like silk. She will just need standard grooming. Her southern foster Mom said she loves water and doesn’t mind a bath.

Dogs:
Nettie does extremely well with other dogs. She is used to all of her foster sisters and play well together. If Nettie doesn’t want to play with her sisters she just sits there and doesn’t move while they nudge and paw at her. When she does play she is fast and likes to chase. Her play style with dogs is quite mouthy (she never mouths humans). The resident dog is a hound who barks a lot when playing and she doesn’t understand that yet so she can get a tad defensive (she’s a sensitive girl). She has met one dog on a walk so far and she just wanted to go up and sniff the dog to say hi. If we pass other dogs on the street she ignores them and walks by without pulling or barking.

Cats:
Nettie lives with 2 cats. Right now Nettie is curious about the cats and is sniffing them out to see what they are. She is not trying to hurt the cats but is just very curious.

Kids:
Nettie has met a teenager and loved meeting him. She has not met young kids in my presence.

Car Rides:
Nettie is excellent in a car. She’ll just sit and look out the window or lay down and sleep. She doesn’t panic, bark, pant or drool.

I can’t rave to you enough about this girl. She’s just the sweetest, kindest, most easy going pup and just wants to be loved by someone and love them in return.
