Lorelei is a 2 year-old German Shepherd mix (with some greyhound in her, we think!). She’s a loving, high-energy girl with a curious mind and a big heart who loves belly scratches and has lots of love to give!

Lorelei’s daily routine includes plenty of relaxation time in her doggy bed, where she loves to nap with periodic breaks to keep an eye on squirrels and bunnies through the window. She’s a true lover at heart and enjoys giving kisses and doing anything she can to please. While she’s calm and content in the apartment during the day, she does have a lot of energy to burn and would benefit from a home with a backyard where she can run and play. She is also potty trained and does well in the car.

When it comes to walks, Lorelei is enthusiastic and definitely gets excited to be outside. She’s working on her leash manners, as she can pull quite hard and gets distracted by all the sights and smells - especially squirrels and bunnies. While she is a quick learner and responds very well to training, walks are still a bit of a work in progress. With consistent training, we’re confident she will improve, but right now, she would do best with someone who can be patient and committed to continuing her leash training.

Lorelei is fully crate trained and feels comfortable when left in her crate with her doggy bed, as she can get a bit anxious when left alone. She’s a smart girl who listens really well and is already trained to sit and stay for treats/food. She would thrive in a home with an owner who can continue her training and provide her with the structure and exercise she needs.

Lorelei has interacted with other dogs in a calm environment and did well, but she would do best in a home where introductions to new dogs can be done slowly, and she’s not exposed to the stress of busy walks with other dogs. She has not been around kids or cats so we're unsure how she would do.

If you’re looking for a loving, smart, and energetic companion, Lorelei may be the perfect fit for you!
