Much like his teacup namesake from Beauty and the Beast, Chip is a sweet, curious little boy full of potential. He weighs just 29 pounds and loves having his silky fur petted.

During the workday, Chip is crated with a midday lunch break, and he is also crated overnight. Although he protests briefly, he settles in quickly. He keeps his crate clean and goes potty promptly once we’re outside. When I am home, Chip is taken outside every two hours to prevent any accidents. He takes both the stairs and the elevator in my apartment.

Chip does well with other dogs and is submissive to his foster sister. He would thrive either as an only dog (he loves attention!) or in a home with canine siblings. Chip spent a brief time with two very dog savvy cats: he was terrified of them. They wanted to play and introduce themselves to Chip; Chip cowered and hid behind the humans until the cats left the room.

Chip is friendly with people and loves to snuggle. He has not yet met children and may be a bit skittish around them initially.

He has a medium energy level and has done well with short potty walks during this cold snap. While Chip is fairly calm for a one-year-old, he still displays some puppy behaviors, such as jumping up and gentle nibbling. He would likely enjoy weekend hikes or trips to the dog park. Chip tries to sit in my lap while I drive, so he will need to be tethered or crated in the car.

Chip is a truly precious little boy who will make a wonderful addition to any home!
