Hi! My name is Butch, but my foster mom calls me little dude, B, Bobo, or sweetheart so I don’t really know my name! I am the most good-natured little dog you will ever meet. I was found hiding under a trailer in rural Texas with another dog, with my fur all overgrown and matted (see last picture). I had to be shaved so I look a little funny now, but I will be even cuter once my hair grows out a bit! Despite my past, I’m incredibly well-adjusted and happy. I love everyone, including people and all other dogs. I have no shyness and I just go up to everyone and wag my tail at them and wait for them to give me attention. I play well with every dog I have met, but if they don’t want to play with me I take cues very well and leave them alone.
I sleep in my crate at night and we wake up around 8 am. I go outside to potty and play with the dogs I live with. If no one wants to play with me, I just run around the yard by myself or roll around on the grass and look adorable. I spend the middle of the day napping in my crate and then we have another play session in the afternoon and relax in the evening. I am a busy little guy and like to explore everything, but I am also an expert snuggler and will help myself to a spot on your lap.
I don’t seem to have any fears or anxieties, and I’m a go-with-the-flow dog. If you want to go for walks, I love that. I prefer a retractable leash so I can zigzag around in front of you and smell all the smells. If we’re inside, I’ll either play with my toys or cuddle on the couch. If you leave me at home alone, I’m happy to nap in my crate. If you want to go for a car ride, I’ll sit in the back seat and look out the window. I already know “come” and “sit” and I am a very good listener! I am potty trained and I have never had an accident in the house. I am a non-shedding dog so I will need regular haircuts. I am small, but I love to run around - especially chasing other little dogs like me - so I would love it if you had another dog for me to play with or if you would take me to the dog park.
