Brody found his furever family on August 18, 2020!

Brody was a beloved pet who ended up in foster care when his prior owner became ill and could no longer care for him.

Brody starts the day at about 6:30 am by going into the backyard with the other dogs in our home for morning bathroom break.  Then he eats breakfast and plays with the other dogs while we get ready for work.  Despite being a little older, Brody is still quite rambunctious and loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home and zooming around with them at top speed in the backyard.  Sometimes, the dogs get a little worked up while playing and then we make them take a break in their crates.  Brody is quiet in his crate on these breaks, and at night, when he is crated while we sleep.

During the day when we are working, Brody is either playing with the other dogs, chewing on a toy or relaxing in a dog bed by the humans while they work.  Brody is potty trained, but was only neutered recently so had a few urges to “mark” in the house in his first few days in our home.  This is very common for male dogs in new situations, especially when they are neutered at an older age like Brody was.  To avoid any problems, Brody wore a “belly band” (basically a dog diaper) for his first few days in our home and he was completely tolerant of that.

Brody gets along well with the other dogs in the house and has been friendly with the humans he has met since coming to our home.  He was a little shy and hesitant with us upon arriving to Wisconsin but has adjusted to us quickly.  He mostly ignores our one-year old daughter, but is very tolerant of her pushing on him, tugging on him or crawling over him.  Brody likes to be around the humans, napping on the floor while we cook dinner and snoozing on the couch while we watch TV.

Brody knows “sit” “off” and “shake” (which is super cute to watch because he has short little legs).  Given his breed/coat, Brody will require periodic grooming to keep him looking his best and to keep the hair out of his eyes.  Brody walks pretty well on a leash, but he does bark at dogs we pass and may need a little work on this bad habit.  He also gets really excited about squirrels and other small animals, but he is a terrier so this is to be expected from his breed.  Brody hasn’t shown any inclination of chewing on things he shouldn’t chew on, other than baby toys (which often look similar to dog toys).  Given this, and that he is potty trained, he may not need to be crated depending on his adopter’s wishes.

Overall, Brody is a great pup looking for his forever home!
